Childhood Expressions is an integrated fine arts curriculum to support the preschool and early years parent and educator. It offers resources for class planning and inspiration for an arts based program for your child or class. Childhood Expressions is informed by scientific research that the preschool child learns best while exploring and experimenting physically, visually and musically. This program will provide lesson plans, techniques, resources, demonstration videos, workshops and support as you introduce an arts based curriculum to your children.
childhood expressions can help you STAY TWO STEPS AHEAD OF THE ENERGY AND ENTHUSIASM OF THE PRESCHOOL CHILD!
"Having come into the program relatively new to working with pre-schoolers, I appreciated learning from Jane's experience and having her lesson plans to guide my time with the children. The lessons are well constructed and can be taught as written but provide ample room for interpretation and adding one's own ideas. What I appreciated most was the guidance in developing the routines and class rituals that make the children feel safe and make class expectations clear for both teachers and children. Each child has the opportunity to shine, make connections and feel important every lesson."

"I have had the privilege of working directly with Jane and the Childhood Expressions curriculum for several years. I thoroughly enjoy the layout of the lessons and themes covered as well as the relationships that are created between both the movement and visual art portions of the syllabus. There is an excellent balance of structure and personal exploration in the dance component, allowing children to grasp key concepts and themes while exploring the how and why through movement. The dance curriculum on its own is wonderful, however, it is enhanced with the addition of the art. This portion of the curriculum allows children to further explore the theme and make connections. I have seen some amazing pieces of art created as well as improvement in dexterity, especially hand-eye coordination. The concepts, songs, poems and rhymes covered in this curriculum are well put together and I find myself going back to them often, even with my five, six and seven year old students. They are great to have in your “back pocket”. Not only is it a joy to teach this curriculum, it is also wonderful to watch the children show interest and express curiosity during each lesson. It is designed so that children are involved in the learning and discovery process. Each week you can see them expanding their knowledge and bringing forth new ideas while also incorporating movement and concepts from previous weeks. This curriculum, it’s holistic approach and detail is a must for teaching preschool aged children." - Whitney Fraser
